Review: Genesis According to Methuselah by Reva Spiro Luxenberg

Methuselah the oldest person who has ever lived, goes on a quest for truth, expanding the Bible with humor. Reva Spiro Luxenberg with tongue in cheek traces the world of Adam and Eve, Noah and the patriarchs though Methuselah eyes and ears in a style that is a mock modernization of the terminology in the Bible. This new take on the Bible that will cause readers to laugh aloud. This laugh out loud takes on Genesis leaves you in stitches. I was laughing at the stories even though it was poking fun at the Angels and Genesis. Reva writing style you could almost picture the conversations God was having with the Angels and Methuselah. Methuselah correcting errors in his story and explaining in modern language how a dyslexic scribe screwed up the writing of the Bible and not the men who passed on the words of God. Regardless of your faith, you can find this lighthearted humor book is a good read. One thing that stood out to me the most is how Reva Spiro Luxenberg points out this was not meant to replace the Bible but to have another take on the story of Genesis. I also how she points out the fact that Baseball and Golf were created by Methuselah in heaven before he became a man on earth because he blew it as an angel for losing his temper at the Heavenly Series.
