Review: Grace without Grace by Susan Tietjen

His arms neared her and paralyzed her like a mouse. Gently, they enveloped her and pulled her against him. Kind. Comforting. Strong.
The tears came again, painful and hot, and she wept into his chest, not with pain alone but also with relief. For those few moments, he held her up, letting her share his strength, giving her time to get her legs under her again.
When he finally let go, he stepped into the bathroom and grabbed a handful of tissues. She mobbed her face and blew her nose, certain she looked like a train wreck. Then she saw the mess she left on Rick’s shirt and winced. Even worse, she tried to dry it for him and succeeded in making the same mess she had of Mario’s napkins.
“It’s okay,” he said, chuckling, and pressing her hand against his chest to stop her. “I won’t melt.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
He was so close, leaning over her. His gaze traveled over her face from her eyes to her nose to her mouth. They settled there long enough to send trails of heat up her face. When they sought her gaze again, they were filled with admiration.
He touched her cheek, removing a wisp of tissue as his excuse, but letting his fingertips linger. He lifted her chin, and for a long, breathless, terrifying moment, Grace thought he might kiss her.

I have to say I really enjoyed Susan Tietjen latest book Grace without Grace. Grace and her best friend Hannah go to Hannah Aunt and Uncle's mountain cabin to babysitter her teenage cousins for two weeks so the parents can have a getaway. Hannah and Grace have been best friends since childhood so it is no big shock when Hannah Aunt and Uncle agree to let Grace tag along while Hannah stays with her cousin. What no one but Grace's Uncle and Aunt new is that Hannah older brother Rick had stopped by the cabin for a few days to work on his BMW. Grace and Rick have a past that neither of them is proud of. But, Rick still loves Grace and more than anything wants her to trust him again. Can what happen five years ago change so they can have the future that Rick has always pictured?

The is a very sweet love inspired Christian romance. It is easy to read and very sweet and clean. I was a little disappointed with parts of the predictable storyline but it is worth the time to read anyways. I finished in two hours and would be a great little read for those beaches, travel reads when you need a little something to read and not looking for something too heavy. I am glad I was given the opportunity through Loving The Book to review this book.
