Review: Take To The Sky by Karen E Black

Undercover work, a school sex abuse inquiry and monarch butterflies provide plots twist in this gritty sweeping saga of ex-con Dace and Liza Devereux's complicated family.
This part of the three-part trilogy takes us beyond the triangle of Dace, Liza, and Kathleen. The children are seeking the truth and how they find that their parent's truth is not so different then there own. Dace had two families children with both Liza and Kathleen and how the two families collide. Micah and Mariposa meet at camp neither knowing they are half brother and sister. Micah really likes Mariposa and she has really grown up years of them attending camp together. When Micah is accused of inappropriate behavior at Camp Arrowhead, Kathleen's daughter and Liza's son past come to the surface and Dace must face his past and the truth comes to light.
Karen Black three-part Saga is a riveting tale with tons of twists and turns that bring the past to life. I found the story to be on the equal stand with the Thorn Birds and  The House by the River. She reveals that even in families the full truths of one person is tackled in the truths of our own families. She writing style makes it a complicated easy ready with the tackle of history and present to take you to own a ride to the end.
