Review: Zertone by Amanda K. Rivers

Evelyn Anderson is a typical teenager who believes her life is boring. The only excitement in her life comes from practicing martial arts until she finds herself working for her father's friend Chuck who owns a boating company. In the open ocean, Evelyn discovers that she has a thirst for adventure. Evelyn life changes when a storm sweeps her into another world. There she meets Sam. Together they set out to find a Fejian a magical being who is rumored to be an evil demon who love to murder and destroy. Not everything is as it seems when they discover that Fejian may not be the demon they believe him to be put a magical being who was given the gift by dragons to protect humans.
Amanda Rivers with her Young Adult Fantasy makes it her own. Her unique take on other worlds and fantastical creatures are beyond the traditional norm. I found her easy reading style that could be enjoyed for both younger and older ages to enjoy. Even with this action-packed storyline, it is still written in a way that children as young as 10 or people as old as 80 could still enjoy. I am a huge fantasy fan and I found enjoyment in the uniqueness of Zerton. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good story even if they are not a fan of traditional fantasy because the world of Zertone is a fantasy all of its own.
