Mardi Gras season in the bayou, when a flood just weeks before Mardi Gra deposits a body behind Crozat Plantation B and B, the celebration is put on hold. Maggie Crozat is at it again to help the Pelican Police Department to track down a killer, but when another body turns up none other than Gerard Damboise judge of the Gumbo Queen Pagent and leader of the Pelican Historical Society. Maggie knows the murders are connected but is someone willing to kill for a crown or is it to keep the controversial exhibit about the Lousiana Orphan Train delayed or closed. As Maggie starts researching the past and discovers that the past is affecting the present and not just for the historical society. This was my first Ellen Byron story and I absolutely adored it. Maggies is an adorable character whom you can relate to and the recipes in the back of the book are a huge bonus.
